Happy Birthday - To Me

Another year gone by....another year older....a little slower in the step....a little more forgetful....man I hate my birthday. But the good news is, my daughter turns 7 tomorrow, so for the most part, everyone forgets about Dad's birthday.

After a very, very, very, very lazy weekend, I celebrated my birthday today with a 5.15 mile run in lovely 19 degree weather. The Caumsett Park 50k is about 6 days away. The event is the USA Track & Field 50k National Championship and should produce a very nice field (including 2006 champ Jason Saitta, Michael Wardian and possibly Andy Jones-Wilkins).

We also plan on seeing some of our friends from Kickrunners, including Meredith, rundangerously, divaleh and CT Marathoner. I will post a race preview in the next few days.

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! You ran? Isn't a birthday an excuse NOT to run :P But I guess it's ok because it was "only" 5 miles ;-)

  7. Happy Birthday! It seems like you need to do more celebrating. There is only one you!!!! Maybe BirthdayChallenge.com is the antidote? For my 40th, I set the World Record for Kingpin Fritter Eating. Talk about records no one would want to break. But hey, it was a crazy way to celebrate.
    Love, Jacki

  8. Finally made it to your site, Happy Birthday. I hope all works out for you for crewing for Bad Water. Have you considered running it? I volunteered at the Across The Years this past year and I sware most of the volunteers and runners have ran Bad Water and they all told me that you need to crew before applying to run it. The eclipse was great, I was out running when it happened. Good luck on your 50 this weekend.

  11. A couple of I Tunes gift cards. My birthday now plays second fiddle to my daughters (the day after). I do, however, get a double order from Joe's Stone Crabs shipped to me every year on my birthday !
