2008 GTR 100 Training Diary

The countdown timer to the 2008 GTR 100 Mile Race dipped below the 70 day mark this morning. The girls both had soccer games/practice in the early A.M., which meant I had to cram in almost 15 miles in the early hours. When I started the run at around 5:30 A.M. at Rockies I was the only runner around (although there was one dude fishing who was not doing well at all). I think I counted at least 30 deer on the trail - it is cool in the early hours before people arrive at the park to scare them away (which is basically what I was doing).

Here's a quick peak at the elevation profile for today's run. Tomorrow will be a long, long run - aiming for somewhere in the 5-7 hour range.

  1. Good job squeezing that run in this morning! I love going to the park really early. It is usually really foggy too, which makes it even more magical. If you get to watch the sun rise, it is even a bigger bonus :)
