Today's Long Run

The only bad part of today's 40+ mile training run at Rockies was that I neglected to bring my camera.  After picking up Brad at the train station at around 7:30 AM (a far cry from the 2:45 AM pick-up of Brennen last weekend), we hit Rockies and ran about an hour and a half with our friends Kristen and Dot.  At about the 4 hour mark the skies went dark and the thunder and lightning rolled in.  It was crazy.  Brad and I were doused by heavy rains and spent the rest of the run soaking wet.  We ended up climbing about 5,300 feet  This was likely the final "long" run before GTR 100, although the plan is to head out to New Jersey next weekend and do the Turkey Swamp 50k as a fun run.  Taper time....I love it.

Here is a peak at the elevation profile from today's run :

  1. Nice long Run Bro... Rain, Lighting is fun huh, good mix of wet & dry miles...

been so hot here and zero rain the only way I would get a good mix of wet & dry, is if I run in "depends" --lol

Almost taper time for GTR :-)

  3. I'm suddenly going to shut up about my lil' ol' hills I did yesterday. I can't believe you can run with those peak elevations.
