Back in Business

With the Baltimore Marathon (31 days) and the Marine Corps Marathon (46 days) looming in the near future, 5:00 AM marked a return to the training grind with an easy, easy 6 miler.  The left knee seems to be in decent working order, and the right toe is getting better by the day.  I suppose those issues were simply the pitfalls of running 100-milers.

I'm very excited to share that I will be crewing Bryon Powell of iRunFar.com fame at the Iroquois Trails 100 Mile race in two weeks (Sept. 20 & 21 in Virgil, NY).  I first met Bryon at GTR100 in 2007 where, after he paced Andy Jones-Wilkins for 30 miles to victory, he was good enough to spend 20 miles pacing me.  We've become good friends ever since, and I'm psyched to get to return the favor at IQ100.

  1. I hope those nagging post-100 injuries clear up real soon. I might need you out there with me on the trail in a couple days. ;-)

So glad and thankful that you'll be out at IT100 with me!

  4. Dude,
I'll be lucky if I can keep up with you! Unless something changes, I'll need you somewhere in the range of the last 15 or 20 miles. Having a pacer will be more important than having a crew at that point. Still looking to set up a more solid pacing arrangement all around.

  8. Bob -

Way to use my blog to try to further your business activities. I better get at commission if Goat buys any solar.
