In a few days I will post a more complete race report, which will be mostly a video race report, with video clips taken throughout the race from all parts of the course.
As for time....a nice 26 hour 41 minute finish (give or take a few seconds).
Lots of thanks to my great pacer, Rick Gaston, who made sure I didn't fall asleep at 2 AM in mid-stride (by running 50 yards ahead of me, leaving me all alone in the dark with the desert wildlife - we all know how scared of the dark I am).
Congrats to Bob and Paulette for finishing their first 100-miler !
What an accomplishment! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWTF?! You weren't inspired to run when I ran 50 yards in front of you, when I threatened to leave you in the dark when you were lagging behind. Didn't you feel the need to catch up when I kept disappearing around the trail. Hahaha. I'll always remember the two us shivering in the dark on that 5th loop. We forgot to pick up our shells before heading out and we froze when that cold set in. Those thermal pockets were a Godsend but there weren't enough of them.
ReplyDeleteGood job man. Now you have to run even faster at Umstead. Stop letting Gentile get so close to you, run faster!
Nice work, Tony...errr, speed demon!
ReplyDeleteawesome job anthony! congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Can't wait to read the full rr. Did you win the best ASS award?
ReplyDeleteBob and the rest of the finishers - congrats.
Good to hear you pulled it out. Apparently, someone blew some fuses or something out there in the desert, and I was left in limbo about you with 9 or less miles to go. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteRest up, and we'll hit the Hudson Valley trails soon.
congrats and great job!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete26 hours and 41 minutes --very proud of you....what about Chris and Susan?? Congrats to Bob n his first 100 miler:)))))

ReplyDeleteMan, you poor thing, that Rick!!! He left you to wild animals??? You know I wouldn't have done that to you, right?
ReplyDeleteCongrats dude!
HA HA HA...I don't know what is better, the reports or the comments that you all are leaving behind. :>)
ReplyDeleteRick is one funny man!
