Treadmill Mile Repeats

It took every ounce of energy and will power to walk down the basement stairs.  It took even more to step on the treadmill, and yet more to start the stupid thing.  Yes, I hate the treadmill.  Hate it, hate it, hate it, hate it.

Nevertheless, I did my track workout on the treadmill today.  Sandwiched in between a 20 minute warm-up and cool down, I did three (3) one (1) mile repeats - 7:09.....7:10.....and 7:14.  I must say that I hate the treadmill even more now then I did two hours ago.

Time to relax and sip some Ultragen recovery drink.

  2. Mark - I've got Yak Trax and Stabilicers, but they aren't so good in 6-12 inches of fresh snow.

  3. I used to have the same struggle when we lived in New England and my treadmill was in the basement. Once I got started, I was good -- especially if I cranked the TV.

  4. I did a treadmill hill workout this past week in the gym and, oh, how I can relate to your angst. Although, I don't see the snow you do, I'd still be inclined to strap on some yak trax and make my own tracks. Or, better yet, clip into my xc skiis and make my own double-track and call it cross training. Make the best of it. :) Take Care!!!

  5. I feel your pain. My last dreadmill run was 20 miles long. It was MUCH harder than 20 miles on the roads or even trails. Hurt my achilles too. Dang dreadmill. ... But sounds like you got a good workout in!! Ride the storm out. You'll be back outside soon.

  9. As stupid as it sounds, once you get past the mental insanity of the treadmill, I think you will find it to be easier than outside running.

  10. I don't necessarily hate my treadmill, but I do find that I run slower...which seems strange because there is no wind or hills
