A Beautiful Day For A Long Run

What an amazing day for a long trail run.  Temps in the 70s.  Clear, sunny skies.  Walkers, runners, horseback riders....al enjoying the trails at Rockies.  And....there was no issue with congestion on the trails - more on that in a later post, but for now, check out Joe Garland's blog post today, "St. Peter and the Rockies" on the subject of the soon-to-be creation and enforcement of a "walk only" rule in certain parts of the park.

I met Peter and Wayne in the early AM, and got in a nice 18+-miler.  My favorite sight was a young girl and her father flying a kite, but when I looked to see who was holding the kite, it was neither of them.  They had tied the kite to their dog who was flying it with great enthusiasm.

Well, enjoy the warm weather up North as long as you can.  Tomorrow the forecast calls for temps to go back down to the 50s.

  1. That does sound like a perfect day for an 18 miler. After the winter you guys had, I think you have earned it.

  5. Wow, just read your friend's blog post. That is crazy about no running at that part of the park. Those trails are wide and should easily accommodate multiuse people. There is no reason runners and others could not share those paths. If people were not morons and did not walk 5 abreast, a runner would not need to call out "on your left" to them. LOL. Can't we all just get along?
