The 8 a.m. start sounds good... you get to sleep in a little and you can pretend it's not brutally hot:-)Anyway by 11 a.m. or noon you should be near Furnace Creek Ranch and the beautiful spring-fed resort pool...I remember the pool fondly from last year's Death Valley Marathon in December.
good grace on this brutal race...
That sounds pretty good. It puts you right in the middle of everything.
Man o man I knew you were crazy but dang ;-)
You must be a real stud to get that wave, rather than the 6 a.m. one for most rookies.
Cool (not literally, because it'll be freakin' hot) you'll be running with Karno. Ask if you can draft off him. :)
