Wind advisory? 20-30 mile per hour winds with gusts up to 50 miles per hour? Trees crackling. Branches falling and blowing at your face. Leaves circling your head. Nah....not enough to stop a long trail run.
After a 3 1/2 mile warm-up with Eric and David, Peter H. swung by Rockefeller for a long run of his own. Training for triathlons, Peter has a coach that prescribed some sort of masochist training run (at least by my standards), with a 9 min/mile pace for the first 8 or so, and an 8:40 min/mile pace for the last 7. I really wasn't interested (at first), but what the heck. I ended up with 18.5 wind-blown, hilly miles. Here are some pictures from the run, as well as a short video that provides a nice sampling of the winds.

That wind was something! Great to spend my last run with y'all at Rockies before the dreaded surgery. Peace
If I hadn't heard it, I wouldn't have believed it was that windy. The trees weren't budging, were they? Of course, if I was running in those shorts, I would keep moving at 7:40 min./mile too!
Glad me and my masochist training made into the blog. This coming Saturday should be even more fun. 20 miler. First 5 @ 8:55, followed by 5 @ 8:50, 5 @ 8:40, 3 @ 8:35 and mile 19 @ 8:15 and mile 20 @ sub 8:00. If this doesn't lead to a sub-4 hr Disney effort I don't know what will.
