Natural Vitality Organic Life Vitamins

For the past several months I have been using two products from Natural Vitality on a fairly regular basis - Organic Life Vitamins and Energy 28.  I've been using them in addition to, and not in lieu of, my regular and very simply daily supplement regime of Phix Energy Drink, Centrum Ultra Men's multi-vitamin, and CosaminDS.  This post will focus on Organic Life Vitamins.  Another on Energy 28 will follow.

Organic Life Vitamins are billed as being "an energy-packed multi-nutrient - more than a multi-vitamin.....a new generation in multis.....a convenient, great-tasting and economical way to get premium nutrition your body can use every day."  Talented and highly accomplished ultra-runner David Ploskonka peaked my interest in Natural Vitality products when he conveyed that they got him through the last 35 miles of the Badwater Ultramarathon at a time when his stomach couldn't handle solid foods.  "It tasted really good and calmed my stomach," he said.  It also is a liquid form vitamin, a feature that is a big bonus for me.  Here are a few key notes from the Natural Vitality website:

  • Liquid:  We believe liquid is a superior delivery system for supplements. In fact, we’re so convinced that we only make liquids and water-soluble powders
  • Taste: We designed OLV so we could take it ourselves. We wanted it to be a good experience, and that starts with taste. We don’t like cough-syrup sweet or heavily green-tasting liquids. We use organic flavors and sweeten with organic stevia and organic agave.
  • Organic Aloe Vera: Aloe vera contains over 200 amino acids, vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, enzymes and sterols. We put 4.5 grams of premium organic ACTIValoe® in each serving. It’s an organic whole-food functional multi within a multi.
  • 24 organic superfruits, veggies & fruits:We believe in organics, so we made sure that our superfruit, veggie and fruit blend included only organic produce. To us it’s worth the extra cost, not only for the health benefits but also to support organic farming.
  • Covering nutritional bases: A multi should be well rounded, but we believe it isn’t honest to put a lot of items on a label in very small quantities that don’t really do anything. We use enough of an ingredient to make a difference. And we don’t shop for the cheapest ingredients to give our product a price advantage. Instead, we look for the best forms we can get. OLV has 800 IU of vitamin D3, 450 mg of trace minerals, a good amount of chromium and premium-branded selenium.
  • Essential Vitamins: Organic Life Vitamins provides a range of important vitamins including A, B vitamins, C, D and E.

  • How does it taste?  Pretty good.  They have actually done a fine job of creating a product that is easy on the palate.

East of use?  Fantastic.  You can buy Organic Life Vitamins in a 30 oz bottle or in convenient on-the-go single serving packets.

How has it worked?  Well, it is always tough to tell with any multi-vitamin product, especially since I have yet to switch totally to Organic Life Vitamins as an only source of vitamins.  But I can say that I have felt some difference in my overall level of energy since starting to use it.  The next step is to substitute Organic Life Vitamins in place of Centrum Ultra Men's and see where things go from there.

For the ease of use and its liquid form alone, it just might be something you find worth giving a try.

    1. With all the recent research on some vitamins actually having a negative effect, it's probably best to eat real food.
