Weekly Training Summary (5/07/12 – 5/13/12) : From Good to Bad and Back Again

Most of have weeks that start off on the good side, tilt their way toward frustrations, then pick up at the end.  Well, it is far better than a week that is down right awful, which I’m sure we all have every now and then as well.  This week started off with some nice sessions, but mid-way through a little bug and some IT tightness slowed things down.  But, as the saying goes “ “Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.  Things subsided a bit by the weekend, and that led to a nice, solitary long at the park.  A shorter “Mother’s Day” run on Sunday left just enough time to get home for the day’s honoree.

In three weeks we will be heading out to the Badwater racecourse for a 4/5 day Death Valley Training Camp.  It will provide a great opportunity to train in the desert heat, as well as to get in some training miles on portions of the actual course.
