Just a short and quick post....
We are 26 days removed from the 2012 Badwater Ultramarathon, a period that was important to devote to recovery. A week with the family in vegas post-Badwater was followed by 3 controlled training weeks that consisted of 20, 36 and 37 total weekly miles. But, Javelina 100 sits 75 days ahead on the calendar (October 27), and that means that it is time to get back into the swing of a full training schedule.
For training, I am now receiving guidance from good friend and Canadian ultra-running legend Ray Zahab. This is simply fantastic, and I hope that it will help to push me toward further improvement.
Weekly training summary posts ("Training for Javelina #5") will return next week.
Finally, a very special congratulations to my friend Ira Zaroff for becoming an Ironman and completing the inaugural New York City Ironman yesterday.
